1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, shipping address, phone number, and payment details when you place an order or create an account. We also collect device information automatically - Flick usage patterns (which switches you automate, schedules you set), app interaction data, and technical data like IP address, device type, and operating system version. We do not collect audio, video, or camera data. Flick has no microphone or camera.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: process and deliver your orders; provide, maintain, and improve our Services; send order confirmations, shipping updates, and support responses; personalize your experience (e.g., room names, routines); send product updates and promotional offers (only with your consent); detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal effects.

3. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We share information only as necessary: with service providers (payment processors, shipping carriers, cloud hosting) who are contractually bound to use it solely for the service they provide; if required by law, subpoena, or court order; to protect the rights, property, or safety of QINO Home, our users, or the public; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets - you will be notified before your data is transferred. We never sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you Services. Order and payment records are retained for at least 7 years to comply with Indian tax and accounting laws. Device usage data is retained for 2 years from last activity. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures: all data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3; payment information is processed exclusively through PCI-DSS compliant payment processors - QINO Home never stores full credit card numbers; Flick devices communicate with our servers over mutual-TLS authenticated MQTT connections; access to personal data is restricted to employees who need it, with audit logging enabled. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate or incomplete data; request deletion of your data; restrict or object to processing; receive your data in a portable format; withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent); and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@qinohome.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses essential cookies for session management and shopping cart functionality. We also use analytics cookies (with your consent) to understand how visitors use our site - these are anonymized and do not identify you personally. The QINO mobile app uses minimal on-device storage for preferences and cached data. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as expected.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child without verified parental consent, we will delete it immediately. 9. International Data Transfers

QINO Home is based in India, and your data is processed and stored on servers located in India (Mumbai region, AWS ap-south-1). If you access our Services from outside India, your data may be transferred to and processed in India. We ensure that any such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws and that your data receives an adequate level of protection.

10. Third-Party Services

Our Services may integrate with third-party platforms (e.g., Amazon Alexa, Google Home) at your election. When you enable such integrations, data may be shared between QINO and that platform as described in the integration's setup flow. Those platforms have their own privacy policies - we encourage you to review them. QINO Home is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services you choose to connect.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes via email (to the address associated with your account) and/or a prominent notice on our website before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of our Services after changes constitutes acceptance.
